Obama says he took office "last year" after 10 months as president. White House photo
Last year? This year? What’s the difference?
After a “bipartisan” meeting with Congressional leaders about jobs, President Obama made a statement in which he said the economy has changed since he took office “last year.”
Looking at the situation we face today, what’s clear is that our economy is in a very different place than it was when I took office last year.
Well, we may have gone through some sort of time warp, but the calendar says Dec. 9, 2009 — nearly two months before the 1-year anniversary of the president’s inauguration and a few weeks before he can say he took office “last year” (he took the oath of office on Jan. 20, 2009).
To be fair, math just isn’t President Obama’s strong suit.
