President to his critics: ‘Get out of the way!’

At a rally in Virginia, the president praised Mark Warner for working across political lines and then told his critics to "get out of the way."
During an event for Virginia gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds, President Obama began by praising former Virgina guv and now-Sen. Mark Warner for moving above “nasty” politics and bringing people together. He concluded his speech by telling critics of health care reform proposals to “get out of the way.”

Apparently Mark Warner can “try something different,” while the president cannot. So much for the “transformational figure” meme.
Exit question: If those who “made the mess” need to get out of the way, why has Ted Kennedy (well, his staff at least) played such a central role?
