TRANSITION DAY 3

Making fun of Nancy Reagan during first press conference

When asked if he's spoken to any former presidents, Barack Obama began listing them off because he, "didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about you know doing any séances," during his first press conferece as president-elect.

When asked if he's spoken to any former presidents, Barack Obama began listing them off because he, "didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about you know doing any séances," during his first press conferece as president-elect.

How’s this for “hope” and “change?”

Barack Obama made crack at former First Lady Nancy Reagan during his first press conference as president-elect.

After Chicago Sun-Times reporter Lynn Sweet asked Obama if he had spoken with any former presidents, Obama said this:

Uh, let me list those off. In terms of speaking to former presidents, I’ve spoken to all of them, that are living, obviously president Clinton, I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about you know doing any séances.

Obama, most likely after his staff stopped whincing and told him he made a gaffe, called Reagan to apologize.

He was elected less than a week ago in large part because he was so charismatic, smart and smooth. Clearly he’s getting off on the wrong foot.
